    1. Solar Flares are caused by the magnetic field of the sun. They are an "eruption" of stored magnetic energy.

  2. What happens inside of the sun? What causes these reactions?

    1. Inside the sun, Hydrogen is converted to Helium and releases a large amount of heat and energy. This is caused by two pairs of protons fusing to create deutrons which then fuse with another proton to create helium-3.

    1. The sun affects Earth's climate by altering the rate of solar heating on the ground and in the atmosphere.

  4. How would the sun function if it was missing one of its three layers?

    1. The sun without one of it's layers would function basically the same, but would look different and be a lot hotter in temperature.

    1. It was originally seen by the naked eye. when the sun was at the horizon and a lot less brighter. Later with telescopes, people believed that they were simply planets moving in front of the sun, causing a shadow. Then people realized what they were and it led to the help of figuring out the rotational period of the sun.

  6. What is in a sun spot? And can they be created/destroyed easily?

    1. A sun spot is a place where the magnetic field rises up from below the Sun's surface the region pokes trough, allowing us to see a darkened spot. So inside a sun spot is basically nothing and all we are seeing is the sun but at darker, magnetic region. The lifetimes of sunspots range from a few days to weeks.
