  1. What are some ways the idea of the Big Bang has been contested?

  2. The most argued problem with the Big Bang Theory is that it violates the first law of thermodynamics, which says you can't create or destroy matter or energy!

  3. Newton's First Law of Motion states that a body at rest will remain at rest unless an outside force acts on it, and a body in motion at a constant velocity will remain in motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an outside force. Does this tend to negate the big bang theory? What sort of outside influinces might have "Caused" this thing to "Go off"?

    1. Yes, that argument has also been used to argue against the Big Bang in the past. It is hard for people to grasp that something came out of nothing.

  4. Which era do you think supports or provides the most evidence for the Big Bang itself? Great job!

    1. The Planck Era because it got everything started

  7. How did Penzias and Wilson conclude that the noise they were hearing leftover radiation from the cosmic microwave background if they found it accidentally?

    1. They were able to work with another set of scientists who had been searching for evidence of the leftover radiation for a long time.

  8. Is the Planck Era the stage of the universe where you mentioned we couldn't see because it was opaque? or is this a different stage?

    1. We could not see the universe before this era!

    1. It's hard to say because it has been a gradual movement of more and more findings, but I would say it has become widespread within the past decade.

    1. Georges Lemaitre is known as the father of the Big Bang.

  11. While the graphs of the splitting of the four forces shows gravity as the first force to split off, most articles say that we don't have a quantum theory of gravity that is consistent with General Relativity. So why do they assume that gravity is the first force to split out of the super force?

    1. This is a great question. Of course, these are all just theories, and I'm sure they have a lot of evidence backing up the idea.

  12. Going off the question above how did gravity become the weakest force of the fundamental forces? Does it have something to do with the idea it split off first?

    1. Again, this is a great question. I do not know enough about the subject to properly answer this. I'm sure it is something that you could ask Dr. Plavchan!

    1. Scientists have found that the universe is expanding, so it only make sense that the universe used to be smaller, and therefor had to begin at some point!
