if they couldn't see dark matter, how did they discover it? Was it just from gravitational pulls?
Dark matter was theorized in the 1930's then modern calculations in the 1960's-1970's. Astronomers now have have gotten better at finding dark matter because of the effect of gravity on the path that light takes as it crosses the universe.
I was a little confused about the dark energy part of this, Are you saying we can feel dark energy like we feel the sun? Or is that just an example?
Feeling Dark energy like the sun was just used as an example.
Is there more proof than the gravitation pulls that it exists?
No there is not more proof that gravitation pulls exists it's more of an theory.

What kind of instruments are used to measure dark matter, or do we not have any yet?
Astronomers have used NASA'S Chandra X-ray observatory to make measurements.
do scientists believe they will soon figure out what dark matter is?
Scientists already know what dark matter although there are plenty of answered questions that will hopefully soon get answers.
Does dark energy have a positive or negative effect on our solar system?
Dark energy has both a positive and negative effect on our solar system.
